Academic Integrity Policy

We work primarily with graduate students who are developing, writing, and finalizing their theses or dissertations. We also provide editorial support for post-doctoral academic projects, including journal articles, professional papers, and dissertation-to-book conversions. The editorial work we do is often consultative and, at times, includes pedagogical engagement. All the members of our company are practicing lecturers, writers, and researchers with PhDs in their respective fields and are all well-versed in the complexities and requirements of advanced higher education. Accordingly, we are thoroughly committed to the ideals of scholarly pursuit and deeply respect the value of advanced education, research, and the rigorous standards that set it apart from other fields and industries. It is on this basis that we ensure we maintain high professional standards in our services, while simultaneously remaining staunchly committed to the integrity of academic authorship.

Academic Integrity: Policies on Writing and Plagiarism

Thesis Editor, Ltd is an editing service, not a writing company. We offer a wide-range of services to assist our clients in the thesis writing process, however, we do not, under any circumstances, write new material for our clients, as doing so would be a breach of academic integrity and could put them at risk of expulsion from their University. Naturally, we want to avoid this, both for our own integrity as professionals and for the sake and academic well-being of our clients. Accordingly, our editors can edit a client’s text for clarity, scholarly tone, structure, flow, as well as more surface level issues of grammar, spelling or formatting. They can also provide early-stage coaching services or detailed critical feedback on a document’s structure, organization, and strength. But they will never compose any text ex nihilo on a client’s behalf, as such an action would constitute academic fraud. For the same reason, we also do not provide any editing services for text that has been plagiarized from other sources. Our commitment to these policies is firm.

Need Help Getting Started?

We provide a number of services for clients in the early stages of the thesis writing process. One is our annotated bibliography service, where we help keep clients up-to-date on the current research in their respective fields and identify existing gaps in the literature. Another is our one-on-one coaching service, wherein we pair our clients with an editor who will help you refine your ideas, develop a research plan, and create a writing schedule. Often, advisor feedback or an assignment rubric is a major component in the discussion. While your editor will happily work closely with you and provide you with written commentary, feedback, and consultation notes as needed, he or she will not actually compose any text for inclusion in your thesis. This consultation service is often used as a follow-up to a heavy line edit of an early-stage draft, providing the client an opportunity to review their editor's developmental work, ask questions, and develop a plan to move forward.

My statistician, Dr. Williams, helped me think through some of the challenges I've been having with the analyses, provided some helpful resources, and gave me a big boost of confidence. Dr. Williams and Dr. Leach were both very accommodating given my tight deadline. I really appreciated their support.
